These projects can involve observing native or invasive species, measuring environmental conditions, monitoring pollution, and many other topics. Some can be done from the comfort of your own home, while others might require you to explore your yard, neighborhood, or entire community.

3. Learn more about a model organism. C. elegans, our favorite model organism, has been involved in 5 Nobel prizes, thousands of academic studies, and are keys to multiple therapeutic treatments. Learn a little more about how these tiny creatures have revolutionized biotechnology.
