Welcome to the (un)official summer home of biotechnology! Over the next few months, Edvotek scientists will be providing an exciting mix of fun and educational lessons to get you, and your students, up to speed on all things biotech. This includes hands-on activities, adaptable lesson plans, skills refreshers, and videos! Whether you are an experienced scientist, veteran educator, biotech novice, or something in between we will have interesting activities for everyone.
Do you know the difference between PCR and qPCR? How is conjugation different from transformation? What is the purpose of chromatography and why are there so many different methods? How do you choose the right percentage of agarose gel, the right ladder, and the right buffer for your experiment??? Don’t worry if you don’t have the answers to these questions, because this is exactly the type of stuff we will be covering throughout the bootcamp!
